Admission Criteria
Age: Adolescents or Adults
Sex: Male or Female Parental Role: Participants must be parents, guardians, or caregivers seeking to improve their parenting skills.
Program Structure
The program provides three tailored approaches to meet the needs of diverse families:
1. General Parenting
This track consists of 10 lessons focusing on the fundamentals of nurturing and parenting, including:
- Philosophy and practices of nurturing parenting
- Understanding child development (infants to teens)
- Brain development in children and teens
- Communicating with respect
- Building self-worth and understanding feelings
- Family morals, values, and rules
- Praising children and managing behavior
- Alternatives to spanking and dealing with stress
Assessment and Certification:
Participants complete a pre-test to assess their knowledge and a post-test to evaluate what they have learned. Upon successfully completing all 10 lessons and passing the test, they receive a certificate of completion.
2. Nurturing Skills
This track explores 17 key topics across 33 lessons, including:
- Nurturing parenting and cultural traditions
- Developing spirituality in parenting
- Understanding growth and development of children
- Recognizing and managing feelings
- Effective discipline and alternatives to punishment
- Parenting routines and prenatal care
- Foster and adoptive parenting
Assessment and Certification:
Participants complete a pre-test and post-test to measure progress and receive a certificate upon completing all lessons and passing the final test.
3. Families in Substance Abuse Treatment and Recovery
This track includes 18 lessons specifically designed for families impacted by substance use. Topics include:
- Substance use and its effects on families
- Building trust, self-esteem, and communication
- Managing stress and setting boundaries
- Recovery: navigating loss, love, and family values
- Guiding children’s behavior and creating routines
- Strengthening the parent-child relationship
Assessment and Certification:
Participants take a pre-test and post-test to track their learning and receive a certificate of completion after finishing all 33 lessons and passing the test.
