How MAT Works

Medications

MAT uses FDA-approved medications tailored to the individual’s needs, including:

  • For Opioid Use Disorder: Methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone to reduce cravings, block euphoric effects, and alleviate withdrawal symptoms.
  • For Alcohol Use Disorder: Disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone to manage cravings and promote abstinence.
