From its inception the strength of this agency has been due to the
talented, committed staff members, who give so unselfishly of themselves
to helping each client, student and family heal from the inside out.
As supervisor, Assistant Director, Managing Director and as
President for the last 13 years, I have had the privilege and honor of
leading a very effective team of sincere and committed managers and
therapeutic staff. Without
reservation I can say the future of this agency is exciting, bright
and full of unknown challenges we are determined to face and
conquer together!
Over the years we have expanded geographically
throughout Pennsylvania. Presently, PA
Treatment & Healing operates licensed treatment programs, in
Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg, Honesdale, Lehighton, Middleburg,
Milton,
Pottsville, Scranton, South Montrose, State College, Turbotville and Williamsport. From these locations we
serve 27 counties and over 70 public school districts.
The agency is privileged to serve a daily population of more than 400 youth. The success and
growth of PA Treatment & Healing is attributed to the high
quality of services provided to the clients, parents and referring
agencies by a trained and committed team of staff.
The agency is proud to provide one of the most comprehensive,
quality program structures in the state, offering:

Licensed After School Evening Day Treatment;

Intensive Adolescent Day Treatment (Mental Health
licensed/MA approved);

Outpatient Drug and Alcohol counseling (Mental Health
licensed/MA approved);

Licensed Therapeutic Foster Care;

Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth;
·
Licensed Outdoor
Mobile
Program (Be Challenged);
·
Residential Recovery Program for Adolescent Males
(Licensed Inpatient Non- Hospital
Residential Program);

Community Service Programs for Youth;
·
Outpatient Individual, Marital and Family Counseling;
·
Parenting Classes.
We have instituted a system of program compliance
to further develop and carefully systematize each of our program
services to ensure each location is offering the highest quality
treatment and education. Our treatment programs are licensed by the
following state agencies, the Department of Public Welfare, the Office
of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, the Pennsylvania
Department of Education, the Office of Medical Assistance Programs and
the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs. Our reputation with each of
these entities remains remarkably positive.
It is hard to believe we have been providing
services as a private, non-profit 501(c) (3) corporation for over 29 years. PA Treatment
& Healing has received a number of state and national awards
including the honor of being named a national model program by the
Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Programs of Justice for three
consecutive years beginning in 1991.
The staff and clients of PA Treatment & Healing have
been featured in the following national television documentaries:

Breaking the Cycle of Violence, produced by the National
Education Service;

Stick and Stones, produced by George Rivera Productions;
·
Victory Over Violence, produced by Arnold Shapiro
Productions and hosted by the legendary Walter Cronkite;
·
ABC World News – featuring youth from the Day Treatment
program participating in the H.O.P.E for Life Program;

Bad Dads produced by Arnold Shapiro productions and
commentated by Heavyweight Boxing Champion, George Foreman.
Developing healthy relationships with our clients,
among our team of staff and with the community has been and remains our
primary focus. We are continually encouraged and thankful for the
unending support of Judges, Probation Officers, Teachers and
Administrators, Children & Youth Workers, Mental Health
Professionals, Interns, Volunteers, Contributors and our Esteemed Board
of Directors and Statewide Advisory Committee.
These individuals have steadfastly partnered with us in our
mission of “guiding people on the path to change” and we are forever
